7.3L sensor issue?

I was recently changing my fuel filter (about two weeks ago) and I cleaned up a little bit of fuel from the valley(drips from the filter). When I pulled the rag out I noticed a little 90 degree connector that was unplugged. I've tried looking at least 10 times for it's home to no avail. I tried to troubleshoot and connected it to the copper shaft you see in the bottom right of the close up of the fuel bowl. That shaft has current running through it and gets pretty damn hot. Within seconds I got a fuel filter and engine temp light in the cab. Anyone know where in the hell it goes? I've been running it unplugged and it runs fine.

Important info:

My truck has a 2003 7.3L in it, not the original.

I figured it connected to the fuel bowl somewhere but I've felt that thing up and down and looked at numerous diagrams and I can't locate a plug fitting anywhere.

The fitting says T-1136-01 on the side

Thanks

That's the fuel filter restriction sensor plug I believe, I'll see if I can find a picture of what the sensor looks like and post it. As for the location on a 2003 motor I think it might be lower on the fuel bowl than the obs filter housings.

Could be the Fuel Bowl heater, mines unplugged on purpose.

BTW, That is one clean motor and truck, nice work.

Yeah, and even if it was for the fuel filter I'm sure if I keep up on the maintenance I'd be fine, but Murphy's law and I have a history so it's just a piece of mind thing. Thanks for the compliment too! I just bought her about a month ago and I'm the second owner. My jaw dropped when I actually looked under it because there is zero rust (except one very tiny spot near the front bumper. Amazing for a Wisconsin truck, I'm definitely lucky to have one in this good of shape!

The reason a lot of us unplug the fuel bowl heater is that it is on the same circuit as the IDM. If your fuel bowl heater shorts, and they do it knocks out the IDM too. 30 amp fuse. I spend winters in Montana and Tahoe and have never noticed not having a fuel bowl heater.. and no codes from unplugging.

Not saying this is the connector you're seeing, but if you could send a pic of the inside of the connector it would help. It could only be a couple things.

I attached the fuel bowl connector pinout/diagram

That doesn't look like anything I have on my 02. It also doesn't look like a sensor or switch due to the lack of a Vref/Feedback signal. Most sensors have 3 wires so they can talk back to the PCM using the ref Voltage signal.

I would say that when going with an 02 motor from a 97 you had/have a couple unused connectors, etc. on the original OBS wiring harness. Plugged into the bottom of the fuel bowl is the Fuel Bowl Heater. If you start loosing a 30A IDM fuse unplug that connector or replace the FB Heater element.
