911 EGR block off

I have the truck apart in the front yard trying to install the EGR block off plate. i loosened up the down pipe, got it out the way, loosened up the band clamp from the cooler to the up pipe and i loosened up the band clamp on the up pipes where they go to the trubo. i got the plate in but the up pipe and cooler seating surface are not mating up too well now. i dont know that the v clamp will pull them back. is it normal to have a small gap between the 2 after installing the plate?

Re: 911 EGR block off

If you have a gap it's gonna leak exhaust. Have you tried loosening the y-pipe bolts at the exhaust manifolds and giving the whole system a chance to relax? That might help you get it all back together flush as you do have some forgivness at the manifold joints. Just be sure and hit the bolts with some penetrating oil and let them soak for a bit. 10mm flex head gear wrench for the bolt heads on top and 13mm socket for the nuts on bottom. Hope this helps ya out.
