diy ebpv delete
has anyone ever come acroos a write or kit to delete the ebpv out of the stock turbo? it looks like you could pull out the flap and put a freeze pleg or somethin in the bottom side... very high temp area so it would have to be stout

thats what i did on mine is pull the flap and rod out and put plug on bottom side, also i unplugged the ebpv actuator so that it would not cycle when cold

Re: diy ebpv delete
I'm also planning to delete mine soon because mine leaks lots of oil when it's cold and the ebpv is in use

Re: diy ebpv delete
Put on a blank turbo pedastal and a blank exhaust outlet and you will never have to worry about it again. Like frost plugs falling out when it gets hot or threads leaking where you plug it.

Re: diy ebpv delete
![]() If you gut the EBV and drive freeze plugs in the shaft holes, drive the freeze plug deep in the hole and to install an internal snap ring in the grove. This will hold the plug in. I did mine about 8 years ago and I had one plug come out after my first install and I never had a problem after installing a snap ring. I can’t remember the freeze plug size but I know it was metric and a very tight fit. When you gut the valve, do yourself a favor and just buy a non-EBV turbo pedestal now if you plan on keeping your truck a while. You can find one for around $100 if you search a little. I gutted several turbo pedestals a few years ago and they all work fine, but they can be prone to leaks around the plug where the actuator rod was. Whatever you decide to do, I wouldn't recommend just leaving the actuator rod hanging out of the pedestal because it will start leaking in a short amount of time. I now use my gutted pedestal as a wheel chock for my Polaris Ranger because I'm too lazy to fix the emergency brake.

Re: diy ebpv delete
By doing the EBV delete does that just prevents future exhaust leaks?

Re: diy ebpv delete
what it does is remove the flap in the exhaust side of the turbo that ins hydraulically actuated closed ,when the engine is cold and then opens up as the motor gets hot. it looks just like the throttle plates on a topfuel dragster. i live in louisiana and rarely have cold mornings so i dont think it will affect me much if it is removed. but what it does do is give u about 10-15% more flow outta the turbo

Re: diy ebpv delete
Hi ---
Was wondering I was told you could just disconnect it at the pedestal by pulling the plug... Does that work? Or did I fall for someones internet mods
