I know there are some recent threads on this but I'm gonna start my own just to make sure I'm getting it right. There are also a few questions to. I am just using an oil pressure switch and no intertia switch with a stock sd pump.
fuel pump-the black wire gets ground and the other wire goes to #87 on the relay.
#85 on the relay just goes to ground.
#30 on relay just goes to a 30 amp fuse in the fuse box.
The "C" on the pressure switch goes to #86 on the relay.
The "N" on the pressure switch goes to the starter power which would mean wiring it right to the starter selenoid or what?
The "CO" on the pressure switch goes to "ignition on" which would be the the fuel heater wire. Which wire is the fuel heater wire?
After all of this, its good to go?
I also have the areomotive 13109 regulator and am wondering if there is any way to adjust the pressure. I know its suppose to be around 60-65psi and I have a gauge on the regulator, but will the pump just flow right or how can it be adjusted? Also does it matter what hoses go where on the sides of the regualtor? I know the return goes on the bottom that goes back to the tanks, but once the fuel comes out of the heads, does it matter which side of the regulator the lines go to?

Is there some on that is good with a drawing program that can make a nice diagram that shows how to used that oil pressure switch with a relay. We desperately need that as an add on for the library. Trying to answer wiring question in written form instead of drawing form sucks VOLUNTEERS???
I don't use a pressure switch so can't help you with the connections.
The fuel heater wire is hot when the key is turned on, whether in start or in the run position. It's red/light green, look on the connector that plugs in the fuel bowl wiring.
The Aeromotive regulator is adjustable with the screw on top. My fuel pump is always on when the key is turned on, so when I first set it up, I just turned the key on without starting the engine, and set the regulator.
The two side ports are internally connected so it doesn't matter which way the gauge is set or where the hoses go. I screwed my gauge directly into the regulator and mounted the regulator so the gauge faces the front of the engine, making it easy to read. The hose connections are then pretty obvious.
Ok I have a couple questions with the pressure switch. After if goes from #85 on the relay, what terminal does it connect to on the pressure switch? What terminal on the pressure switch does the wire that goes to "ignition on" hooked to? Then there is still one more terminal on the pressure switch to be used, so what is it used for?

Hey Tom, he does have a pressure switch in that diagram. To add the inertia switch you would put the inertia switch inline between pole 85 and the pressure switch or between the pressure switch and the ignition hot. Another method would be to put the pressure switch on the ground side of the relay and the inertia switch on the ignition hot side of the relay. any of those configurations will work just fine.
You will only use two of the terminals on the pressure switch. The center terminal and the NO (normally open) terminal. You can technically place either wire on either terminal but for simplicity you can place the wire from the ignition source to the center terminal on the pressure switch and the wire from terminal 85 to the NO terminal on the pressure switch.
It looks to me like that pressure switch is designed to supply power at key on and also supplies power during cranking. During cranking would be ok but in all reality it is probably not necessary. It looks like Bill has determined that the fuel heater wire is hot in start and run ignition switch operations. If 16Y does not mind and can just help me out with showing how to wire that style of oil pressure switch we can save a lot of time with repeated posts. I understand exactly what you are saying but I think the diagram is the best way to go.
I'm not sure on that particular oil pressure switch, but like Tom is saying some of them have a connection to the starter solenoid so the circuit will be energized while the starter is being cranked, even if there is no oil pressure. Then once you switch to Run it goes over to the oil-pressure mode, where it'd shut off if oil pressure drops. Tim's I-C page says the Holley website has a diagram for the switch he used.
The red/light green fuel heater wire is the 30 amp circuit on Fuse #22. It powers the PCM relay coil as well as the GPR relay so it's powered whenever the key is on Start or Run.
