Question Lack of power 2002 F350 7.3 powerstroke

I have a severe lack of power in my truck I don't think i'm getting all my turbo psi. The turbo works but not like it use to. I've checked all the piping all good now there is no vacum going to the waste gate is there supposed to be vacum in that line if anyone has any suggestions let me know please thank you.

No, there is not supposed to be a vacum going to the wastegate, it is a pressure line. Boost makes the wastegate actuator control the wastegate.

You really need to make sure there are no boost leaks (perhaps with a boost leak detector you make yourself or buy from www.dieselsite.com).

Make sure you don't have up pipe leaks.

Make sure your turbo isn't shot. Indicated by excessive shaft play side/side in/out

Does your truck do this all the time ? If it only happens before truck is up to temp it may be your EBPV doing its job. You mention that all your piping is good. Did you check your boots, up-pipes. When was your last fuel filter change, how is your fuel pressure?
Just a few thing to ponder.

Does the truck make a hissing sound from the exhaust? If so, it is your EBPV, and you won't have any power.

Re: Lack of power 2002 F350 7.3 powerstroke

lack of fuel pressure == lack of boost.

Last time I had similar problems, it was my pressure regulator. I had virtually no fuel pressure and the result was no boost.

yes it does his out the exhaust it vary's certain days depending on temp it seems to have a little more power. But it is really hard on fuel since this all started 345km/90 litres. The truck is bone stock just a plow truck but still need power.

Re: Lack of power 2002 F350 7.3 powerstroke

My 200 was having low power issues as well. I just replaced my ICP sensor with a new one, it was also more updated then the old one. The POS one that was in there was "sweating" through the sensor so I figured it was time for a new one 90 bucks VIA eBay. Truck runs a million times better. Next I might update the IPR after I check the high oil pressure.
