200 miles daily in a V10 will cost you a small fortune in gas. Some people have had good luck with those engines but 170k is the highest mileage early V10 I`ve ever seen. If it was me I`d have to pass.

I'd offer him $4,000 if it was me. You need to ask if he has rebuilt the tranny, which is the weakest part of that truck. Even with the high mileage and potentially low mpg, it's still going to be way cheaper than getting into a diesel. Your only other choice is to look for a Ranger 4X4 if mileage is your only critera, otherwise I give that '99 a serious look. If the maintenence was kept up, you should be fine.

If your driving 200 miles daily look into an older subaru legecy, great car, great mpg, AWD and big enough for the family. If you need a truck that is a lot of miles to be putting on a v10 that is already reading 170k. Is this just a daily driver or are you using it for something?

the maintenence was all kept up buy the same dealer that is selling it. i need something with towing power so a subaru or a ranger out of the picture. i need alot of space for my fat a$$ coworker too lol. i'm racking up the miles on my dodge so i think it's a good buy.
