Daily drive/tow and drag tire

So my '97 is in need of tires and being I occationally drag race it I was wondering what the best tire would be to put on it this time around. It currently has 305/70R16 Firestone Destination A/T's on it.

Mostly what I use it for is secondary DD, tow rig, and the occationally test and tune. Now I currently still have a hopping problem on a boosted 4x4 launch and was told it could be in either the Cal-tracs and how they are set up, the rear shocks, or the tires. So far Calvert racing sent me another set of pivot brackets that might have helped a little but not enlighten I can really tell. I have also installed new shock all the way around as it still had the 100k+ mile shocks on it up until about a month ago. An insight is greatly appreciated

Re: Daily drive/tow and drag tire

The best way I can describe it is in 2wd the rear will bounce up and down when I'm into it hard, even if the tires haven't broken traction. That will lead to it hopping. Or when I do a 4x4 launch at the track the entire truck will jump off the ground 6"-12" three or four times before it starts to really move forward. If I do a 4x4 launch when the road it wet it doesn't do that and it will walk sideways some and go forward

Re: Daily drive/tow and drag tire

Sounds like some axle wrap issues.....

I know I used to have some front end hop problems with mine (boosted 4wd launches) ....and rachet straping the front down cured it.
