Arrow most powerful 7.3

I want to build the most powerful 7.3 ever. All ideas and tech info welcome. I'd like to see just how far this engine can go. Not just on stock block, rods, heads and fuel methods etc. I mean as if money were not an issue and the 7.3 had to pass all other engines to make the most horsepower and torque.

what do you have in mind as Im on a quest as well, not quite like yours though. Just big #2 only numbers is what i'm shooting for. You going mechanical or have your hands on some secret injectors? What?
Ill subscribe to this thread and we all know it going to cost lots of money lets not mention price anymore everyone is aware of that issue. Like he said what can we really do to make the most powerful 7.3 ever??

Your right and I know that most all of us will limit ourselves because of money but in this thread lets not. I want innovative ideas and for some of you to share some of those maybe not so crazy homemade mods.

altersd8 I do not have a secret injector or even an inline 8 pump in mind/ however I have put a cat mechanical v8 pump on a psd and put it on a tractor(2555) john deere it makes good enough power to sink some 4 bottom 16 plows and blow smoke.

So do you actually have unlimited funds or are you just saying what you could do IF you had unlimited funds? Cause if money is no issue, Im sure you wont have any problem having the most powerful 7.3 in the world...

I was just kiddin bout the injectors but i think this could be a good thread if we dont worry about funds. hows zanes quad turbo rail doing in the power department??? maybe whole new front cover with cp3 pumps on it and heads machined or made for injectors that go down far into the cylinder like a CR system with new electronics.

Re: most powerful 7.3

Not sure how zanes quad rail is doing but I like sounds of your injector placement. My neighbor has a 1200 horse small block chevy. I know that it is not stock block or anything for that mater but it does have a forced air front and rear head intrance on it and it is one of the most radical builds I've seen 30 psi on an gas burner.

By the way my funds are limited to my old 97 but that does not stop me from fabricateing my own parts and ideas for my dream 7.3.

Their new set up they are building to run a common rail 7.3

Otherwise i think double overtime is making insane amounts of power with a 7.3 mechanical pump

Re: most powerful 7.3

huge injectors nitrous and then what

what abouthe the rods going to hell and the block and the heads going into orbit. Maybe fuel and air are not our only problems lets start with the block and go from there. Can anyone clue me in on a weakspot in the 7.3s block and what can we do to correct it.

Are you still planning on running the HUEI injection? If not, i was saying to look at double overtime because it is making big HP. It is mechanically injected, and from what I have heard is estimated at over 1800hp.

I think it's in the low to mid 2000's now though. If money is no object mechanical injection is the only way to go, it's going to outpower a common rail setup. Aftermarket block, billet heads, billet inline pump, custom everything in the motor. I think $100k just for that motor setup would be a reasonable guess.

Or actually a 360, since it will fit in place of the orginal 7.3 and hold more power then a 5.9.

Re: most powerful 7.3

hey country boy I did not say that I was going to build this engine right now but we have to start somewhere

Lets stop thinking of whether or not this is feesable or even worth the money lets just put it in motion and see where we end up

How much would a billet block cost to make for a 7.3 ? and then start with a solid foundation and maybe a caged girdle that doesnt just tie in the mains.

Last I knew there was a big high HP 7.3 in southern Indiana but it was a P-Pumped 7.3

Dave at Wipe Out can get you the gears and a front cover.

Also I have some of the more wild stuff that Dave has for a HEUI motor - some of it now has a twist of HRT flavor added to it.

Re: most powerful 7.3

I spoke with a guy from lynn ray's speed shop and he told me that titanium was the best way to start with a heui style motor. that it would be able to handle any hydraulic pressures with no hydraulic fatigue.

Titanium block? How much would that cost and is it even possible? those were my questions and he told me that titanium was the future of all high horse engines.

Wow - you must got some deep pockets. $15K will get you close to having a billet block machined from a steel alloy - tack on the extra expenditure for titanium and tooling - you might as well quadruple that number - and that might not even get you close.

Re: most powerful 7.3

a block of titanium will cost about 15k to start then you are correct titanium is extremley difficult to machine out definetly not feesable. I'm thinking mr ray's speed shop was talking about heads or maybe just rods
he is fun to talk with but a little on the wtf side of things thought
