Just when we were getting somewhere someones panties got in a knot.
Everybody take out a sheet of paper, now lay it sideways. Now starting at the lower left corner(idle)draw a line of what you feel in the throttle toward the right side of the sheet(WOT) and post what you drew.
Mine hits hard then tapers off. Fuels a shat load on bottom and then just feels like I have another 1" of play in the pedal at the end with not much there.
I edited this to get back on track. I will say mine is more like Sleepers in a hot setting and more like Matts in a milder setting without the pee pee on the end.
Mine hit really hard on the bottom end when I had the stock .84 turbo on the truck. The instant "hit" was enough to slip the stock clutch. About 8K miles of that and my stock turbo spit the exhaust seal out of it and I replaced it with the van turbo (1.15 exhaust). The power was sooooo much smoother that I have never slipped the stock clutch since. At WOT it is making the same max hp/tq just slower and smoother getting there. Now at 5000' elevation, a 1.0 exhaust housing, and updated tunes within the last 6 months it is still smooth and quiet in all settings.
From my experience it is a snappy throttle/turbo response that steepens the curve and puts excessive stress on the whole drive train. You will definitely find the weak link!
on top is my race file, the second you tap the throttle it blows a big puff and normally spins the tires for a second then after that the throttle's pretty much a dud...
on the bottom is how my towing and street performance tunes feel... they're linear and smooth throughout!!
my economy tune is a dud on the bottom end but feels just as powerful on the top end as the towing tune... but i never touch that tune
