Oil pan gasket

Whats the best way to replace an oil pan gasket? Or is there only one way pull the motor.

They don't come with oil pan gaskets. I do believe you can get them but i'm just running the Ford rtv that is apparently specifically formulated for the 7.3 according to the tube. I put on a good bead of it and it hasn't leaked yet. I only got 30 miles on it though.

You might be able to drop the oil pan enough to scrape the old rtv out and put some new stuff in but that seems like it wouldn't be very fun. Doesn't take too long to pull it out.

No way in hades to clean the old "grey death" off with out the pan coming completely off the motor. Just pull it and do it right.

yep pull it out, also why your there might as well put new bearings in it and torque every thing down for insurance.. as well as a new rear main and any think else you would have to pull the motor to do. It only takes about a 4 or 5 hours to do and of coarse 3 or 4 to put it back in... good luck it is a pain in the butt

Any suggestions of where to get the best bearings and by any chance the torques on the pan, bearings, and rear main

Any motor supply,ebay ! Torque settings are easy as googling .

So do they actually make a gasket or do i just use rtv. And i can't find the torque settings for the oil pan and rear main seal any where. Any seggestions. First time i've every pulled a motor and done any thing this big every bit of help and suggestions would be apprechiated.
