Unbelievable President

I just got this email and had to post it up. Makes me want to throw up. This should fire up all the military members active, retired and reserve. I am retired.

As difficult as Obama's statement is to believe, it is true

UNBELIEVABLE PRESIDENT?
THIS HAS GOT TO BE THE MOST OUTRAGEOUS STATEMENT EVER MADE BY A PUBLIC OFFICIAL LET ALONE BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES. AND THIS GUY IS OUR "COMMANDER IN CHIEF". HE IS A DISGRACE.

UNBELIEVABLE PRESIDENT???

HERE IS HIS RESPONSE WHEN HE BACKED OFF FROM HIS DECISION TO LET THE MILITARY PAY FOR THEIR WAR INJURIES.

Bad press, including major mockery of the plan by comedian Jon

Stewart, led to President Obama abandoning his proposal to require

veterans carry private health insurance to cover the estimated $540

million annual cost to the federal government of treatment for injuries

to military personnel received during their tours on active duty. The

President admitted that he was puzzled by the magnitude of the

opposition to his proposal.

"Look, it's an all volunteer force," Obama complained. "Nobody

made these guys go to war. They had to have known and accepted the

risks. Now they whine about bearing the costs of their choice? It

doesn't compute.." "I thought these were people who were proud to

sacrifice for their country, "Obama continued. "I wasn't asking for

blood, just money. With the country facing the worst financial crisis in

its history, I'd have thought that the patriotic thing to do would be to

try to help reduce the nation's deficit. I guess I underestimated the

selfishness of some of my fellow Americans."

Please pass this on to every one including every vet and their

families whom you know.

How in the world did a person with this mindset become our

leader? I didn't vote for him!!!

REMEMBER THIS STATEMENT... "Nobody made these guys go to war. They had to have known and accepted the risks. Now they whine about bearing the costs of their choice?

If this A** thinks he will ever get another vote from an Active Duty,

Reserve, National Guard service member or veteran of a military service

he ought to think it over. If you or a family member is or has served

their country please pass this to them. Please pass this to everyone.

I'm guessing that other than the 20-25 percent hardcore liberals in the

US will agree that this is just another example why this is the worst

president in American history. Remind everyone over and over how this

man thinks, while he bows to the Saudi Arabian king.

Not a big deal. There are still facts in that interaction that lets you into what the man is thinking. (which I dont like)

Read into it a little bit more. The facts were that Obama did consider the idea (it wasn't his idea, but rather someone proposed it to him). By considering the proposal and presenting it to VA groups, he drew a lot of heat from veterans on this topic. Basically it was a dumb move on his part, and he quickly retracted that position.

But the rest of the story, such as what Obama supposedly said about "whining about the costs", that's all false. The purpose of sticking that in the story was simply to make Obama out to look like the devil himself, and make the whole situation appear much worse than it actually was.

Simply put, Obama's administration tossed an idea out to the public, the public reacted extremely harsh to it, so Obama retracted the proposal. Then a story got put together to take those simple and boring facts and twist them into a tall tale.

When this first happened, I looked into the proposal a bit more. Much of the idea behind it was to try and use private insurance to shore up coverage gaps that some military personnel get caught in from time to time. Military has great benefits, but like all policies, there are holes. Obama's administration was simply trying to find a way to cover those gaps, but it was very ill received. Lesson learned, hopefully....

Choice words about what? Obama never said any of that. The story was fabricated out of a few tiny facts, and then blown wildly out of proportion.

So you guys would have choice words over something that Obama didn't even say in the first place?

Re: Unbelievable President

As much as I don't like Obama, everybody would be very surprised by some of the ideas brought up in any think tank session.

Some of it is just throw crap against the wall and see if it sticks. Most of the time, most of these ideas never see the light of day.

Big Oops on somebodies part, letting that idea out of the room.
