I hate double parkers more than anything. This is prime time this evening at Carraba's. Zero parking left. I'm trying hard to find a spot and roll up on this BS.
Just because you have a clean lifted Harley truck doesnt make you exempt! Firefighter tags to boot....
its the absent minded idiots around that makes this practice so common. someone wheels up with a 100.00 dollar piece of #### that cant afford anything better, and doesnt care to watch what the hell he or she is doing.wings the door open and bam. now they just put more dollar value damage on my truck than theyre vehicle is worth. most people are asent minded idiots. the comment (if your scared someone is going to scratch your truck park somwhere else) apperently you dont give a sh*t about your vehicle. may be you should stay indoors alittle bit more.
I am going to have to dissagree with ya Gare. There are some stupid people around this town that DON NOT know how to open a door without hitting your vehicle. So yes I am one of those that will double park to keep the idots from door dinging my vehicles.
You drive a vehicle with millions of other people on the road. You should expect #######s that let their doors hit your car/truck. I hate that fact of life, but I've come to live with it. Once a year I have to take my wife's Jeep and my car to the bodyshop from people who don't give a chit about other people's property.
If you can't live with that, then maybe you shouldn't drive?

i would have called his captain if it said what station it was.....
if theres plenty of parking ill take 2 but if its scarce parking thats rude.
my nerf bars stick out far enough to keep the loosers doors and shopping carts off. there was a girl that opened her door hard enough to hit my nerf bar and break her window and had the gall to bitch me out over it stupid little teenage biotch
i just park out in the north 40 so i don't get the door dings.i have no problem walking across the parking lot.i will say i am guilty of taking 2 spaces before.but i have never done it in a full parking lot.
With my rig, and the way they are painting parking spots now, I hang rubber on both sides of the lines. If I park dead nuts center, in some parking lots, I'm tripple parking! If I keep one side in the lines, I'm almost always double parking. Parking lots are lined for ricer widths now - so - oh well!! LOL
Heard a story one time...a guy from FTW saidhe parked way in the back of a lot with nobody else around...backed in and split it right down the middle like your pic...came back out and there was a POS Honda parked right beside him so close you could touch both vehicles with one hand. He said he climbed in his passenger side...rolled down his window...reached through the open window of the Honda and locked his Club on that guys steering wheel and drove off. LOL
I do it when appropriate, parked as far out as possible. I'm out numbered by don't give a phuck about the car I'll be trading in in 2 years people, what can I say? I just dropped $750 in paintless dent repair for 9 years of dings. I'd like to keep it that way.
I guess I'm the Guilty 1. The things I pull w/my truck and my TRUCK are huge!
The semi pulls a 77' trombone slide lift trailer that has carried 93ft10in x 14ft wide hog barn trusses to the Tx hog flats S of Guyman Ok.
The PSD hauls a 19'x9' flatbed w/some broken pile of 5hit most of the time.
The dually is just wide. I've parked all of these including the 115ft combined length rig in car parking spaces. :evil
So there's my reasons. Here's my opinion... if double parking pisses you off? how do you think the rest of us feel about you when you drunk park at the local Appleby's. Pass side tires on the line so you can get your fat aas through the drivers door without door-dinging your precious prius.
Not meaning any of you guys, but I'm sure there's guy's & gal's in here that do it regularly.
I'm ussualy the guy who parks at the back next to the curb to allow the most room.
What does backing in do? For the original truck in question, if the lot was full or if he pulled that in the close spots, then he is looking for trouble. I park all by my lonesome, sometimes I take two spots out in the middle of nowhere. Why? Because I am absolutely amazed how sometimes someone will park right next to me, in the middle of nowhere. I am sorry, door dings are not an acceptable part of driving. I once was watching from a window at work, when an obese guy flipped his door open and rocked himself toward the passenger side to get momentum to get himself out of his car. I heard the door hit the adjacent car from inside the building.
I work at a hospital, I have seen countless elderly people flip their doors open. Some people are not car people and they can't understand what the fuss is about. They cannot relate, it is just transportation to them.
A lot of it boils down to the fact that there is a total lack of respect out there. Its been stated time and again in this thread that people just get out and wack the heck outta the vehicle next to them and don't care. Spots are tiny, and we have huge vehicles.
I park in the middle of no where, I'll drop my wife at the door and go park. When we first starting dating, she didn't understand why I parked that way. Well, one day come out and this idiot parked right next to me in an empty lot, and clearly chunked the crap outta my passenger door. I think it took him a little longer than planned to drive home, as when he came outside, he was short a steer tire.
