Towing in 120 Race
I towed my 9000lb RV trailer 700km's in my 120 Race tune and it seemed to be the most effective for EGT's. Even better so than the 60 Tow. Is there any downside of this? I never went over 1200 deg. Seemed to work well.. Anyone else do this?

Re: Towing in 120 Race
I ussually tow in a higher horsepower setting and just drive by the gauges. Seems to work out pretty well. With the hybrid inj I have now, I usually tow in the 120 setting if my temps are ok, but if they are getting out of hand I'll back it down a setting till I find the one that works the best for what I'm towing. As long as you watch your gauges and adjust driving style/power accorddingly, you should be fine

Re: Towing in 120 Race
chances are that the hotter tunes may be running more timing than the regular tunes which usually lowers the EGTs under power. I can't speak for your tuner though you'd have to call and ask.

Re: Towing in 120 Race
I definately drive by the guages. Once in a while I have to get out of it on a hill to keep temps down. So no harm seen then eh?

Re: Towing in 120 Race
I don't see any problem with it if the guages say your alright. But like matt said I would make sure theres not a large advance in timing keeping it within temperature.

Re: Towing in 120 Race
How does DP usually have their 120 race tune for timing?

Re: Towing in 120 Race
I read in a thread on another site about 2 people having a DP tuner and burning holes in their pistons. They said they were in the eco tune most of the time. Which is very likely a high timing if they have holes in their pistons.

Re: Towing in 120 Race
i have towed in the extreme setting on my 08 before, temps stayed low so i kept going. no real problems aside from too much smoke
