What problems have you had? This is open to any big oil set up. What kind of service did said company give you to fix the problem and your thoughts. Please do not derail this thread i do not want a giant pissing contest here! I also dont want my friends truck did this kinda thing! I want personal experience only this is not open to shops that install pumps personal only and please do not bash what anyone has said
OK, I happen to read the pissing match in the other Big Oil thread and I refuse to participate. I'm also tired of all the slander/BS concerning my company and product. Terminator has many pump systems world wide and if I don't hear of an issue, I cannot help you.
This is for all TE customers, whether you purchased the pump from me directly, from one of my many dealers, or even second hand:
If you have had or are having any issues with your oil system, please contact me at: Joey@TerminatorEngineering.com so that I can resolve the issue.
BTS Big Oil (#5) running for about 4 years with over 120,000 miles and no problems ever. I did have one of the threads fail on the engine cover. Too many on and off's over the years and the aluminium casting just couldn't keep up.
They are mechanical and all are machined, assembled or built by a human being hence they are all prone to failure whether they like it or not.
It's how they take care of the problem when the inevitable failure occurs.
That said all of them seem to have have a loyal following other wise they would not still be in business and we would not be having these wars.
Like has been said before pick your pony and ride it, if you get bucked off get back on or get a different pony:doh:

I've had zero problems from my Termy setup. Joey has always given me excellent customer service, and even a few reach-a-rounds that tickle a little.
Most people seem pleased with their setups, regardless of who made it. If your Swamps pumps work for you, then great. If your Stealth pumps make you smile, then that's awesome. If your Termy pumps do exactly what you want, then what more could you ask for?
Over the years there have been pissing pool matches, and I'll admit that even I threw a few shots every now and then. However, it seems today that the same companies are still producing products and successfully selling them. Updates and changes have been made to improve them overall, so now the customer can reap the benefits of the efforts made by these Big Oil guys. Look at what's happened over the past few years... Swamps, Termy, and Steath have all made huge improvements in their designs. If a person buys a setup and is disappointed in the results, then that person is probably one of the very few out there, and should probably talk to whoever sold the pump to figure out what the problem is. Chances are, it might not be the big oil setup itself.
By the way, I'm not speaking to one person in particular, but rather just being general..... well, maybe I'm being specific about the reach-a-round.
I had the Termy (great system) and I now have a home made set up that is mostly a Gen3 which I also really like.
The problem I have w/ BO, have you freakin' measured engine oil temps w/ any of these systems? Jeez they can get high. I can beat on my truck for a bit and hit 250 oil temps easily.
I have Termy's w/R-IPR. Only issue I have had was the brass washers/seals between the R-IPR block and pumps had a leak. Joey has since sent me new (upgrade) copper seals. No other pump related problems.
I've got Terminators on both of my trucks. Crew cab has pump #38, only problem it has ever had was from me over tightening the mounting bolts and stripping the front cover. My 2wd has pump #134, only had it installed about a month.
But rest assured if I wasn't happy with the pumps on my crew cab after having them installed for over 65,000 miles, I wouldn't have installed them on my other truck.
:whs:
Same set up here. Had a gasket leak right after install, but it was my own damn fault 'cause I used 1 old pump-face gasket and 1 new (old one leaked :doh.
My Stealth twin setup leaks everytime I take the truck above 4800 RPMs, but that has become more manageable since I went to dual IPRs and can better control those nasty pressure spikes at those RPMs. I can't wait to get the Stage III Stealth installed and see what it will do with the new injectors going into the project truck. Exciting times indeed.
Original Stealth just like one of the reverse engineered ones. Dual IPR's, flexible balance tube at the moment. I bought the unit used then contacted Gary. I was provided instructions and support even though Gary had long since been done with anything to do with this pump.
I had terminators for about 1.5 years. I loved the performance of the pumps but I had oil leak problems which caused me to get rid of them. The leaks occured mostly from the R IPR. Joey worked with me in trying to stop the leaks. I sent the pumps back to him on 2 different occasions and when I reinstalled them, they worked great for a few months and then the leaks started again. I really hated to get rid of the pumps, but I was done messing with them. I do have to give credit to Joey on his customer service. He was there every step of the way and his turn around time on the pumps was extremely fast. I know that many of you termy owners are very happy, but I had to move on.
I have since installed a Stealth Stage 1. Installation was much easier than the duals and so far I am happy with the results. I am running the same tuning that I had on my duals (live tuned 3600 ICP). The Stealth holds that pressure just like the Termy's did. The only difference that I notice between the pumps are the lack of romp, romps after start up that I had with the termy's. Both setups idled the same. I was hesitant about the Stealth as I had read about the lack of low rpm performance compared to the termy's. I did notice a slight difference in that area with the Stealth. However, it was not that big of a difference to make me think twice about the purchase of the Stealth..
I really did not want to go this route because I am out a considerable amount of money, but with twin 1 year old boys and a bad back, I cannot be wrenching on my truck like I used to.
Why would a single shear the oil much worse than the stock one...? Same design, just moves more oil! Heck, if anything MAYBE it doesn't shear it AS bad as stock,,, who knows? It seems that all the twin pumps shear the oil though, yes that has been proven. We need some oil samples with the Stealth to see how the viscosity holds up don't we?
