Im considering new tires and wanted to see some pictures of 13.5 and 15.5 wide 38" tires. I would also consider running 40's as well but would like to see some pictures first. Anyways lets see some pictures.

You can do a 15.50 on a 9.5 rim, I'm doing 15.50's on a 9" rim no probs tire isnt deformed it looks just right.

Ford 38's I'd do 15.5s, they will look alot better. If you go on Mickey Thompson's web site they rate the 15.5 for a 10-12" rim. I know people that have run them on 10" rims just fine. I plan on doing so myself soon. ;)

Not a Ford but my buddy's old Dodge on 33x15.5-16r ATZs-

My buddy's dad's truck, 05 F350 8.5" lift & 38x15.5-18r Mud Grapplers on 12" rims with 2.5" spacers.

Those are some sick looking trucks, If I didnt have a lift I'd do the 33/15.50's

Depends on the tire, IMO.

I ran 15.50 Toyos on 10" wides without any issue before.

When I switched to Dick Cepek Mud Country 15.50s I kept the 10s, but the amount of sidewall flex I'd get while driving on sweeping turns and going over bumps would drive me nuts. Night and day better on 12" wides.
DCs and Mickeys are essentially the same tire so I'd recommend a 12" wide for them.

Some 08s with 38/15.50s on them:
