right now i have 10inches of lift and a set of 39 boggers on mt wheels and a set of 35 ssrs on weld typhoons. I am thinking about downsizing im sick of climbing in and out..ive had my lifted truck days. Can anyone show some pics of a sd with 4inches and tell what wheel and tires you are using? thank you
truck in my sig is 4 on 35s. I think it couldn't be more perfect. Enough room to clear 35s, easy in and out, but plent of clearance for pretty decent wheeling/trails, still rides good because of less arch in the spring, and its low enough to the ground to handle decently. I would encourage you to do it. My old 350 was an 8 on 37s so I know what you mean by climbing in and out, and yours is even 3 inches taller. Ahh! lol
What do you guys think of 6 to 7'' with 35's or less? What would be the most lift I could pull off with 33's?? I don't want to have to get new springs...
my 4" lift always seems a bit lower than everyone elses but oh well, its got the look I wanted and maybe later on down the road I will go up another inch or 2.
4" lift with 325/65R18 (34.6" x 12.8")
Drivers side is pretty much no problem to get into, grab onto the wheel and a small hop and your in, other doors are a little bit more of a climb and most everyone who gets into it tells me this
I think 33's with a 6-7" lift would look funny. I have 305-70-16 on my truck and all I have is an extra leaf spring on front witch gave me 1 1/2" and people tell me that the tires look to small.
haha, thats rough. I honestly don't know how I would like getting in and out of a truck with that setup and I am not tall but not short either (6') and still young.
Everytime my dad gets in and out of the truck he makes a big stink of it, mostly grunting/groaning and all to make sure I know its giving him a hard time, and then follows it up with a question about side steps.
I still contuniously get asked about ladders and what it takes to get into my truck. Guess its a Mass thing lol, no real lifted trucks up here so gotta pick on the guys with the mild lifts, I think 6" up here will scare the crap out of people lol. LOL
I have people ask me all the time if I have a ladder...
I use to just hop right in... but i'm getting older and fatter by the day, Since I'm highly opposed to side-steps, I think taking it down to 6 and 35's will be a good choice for me.
Amp steps are nice for sure certainly got the wow factor and pretty cool but pricey for sure, for me they would probably just be one more thing to break lol:doh:
I am thinking I would like to put some N-Fab steps on my truck when I get a chance, paint em silver or whatever to match my lower paint, plus ya can get em with a 3rd box step which I would really like. I just can't stand the looks of the nerf bar style steps that have seemed to be soo popular over the last 10 years or so.
LOL of coarse... gotta love that in dash LOL Yea, im starting to notice it getting harder and harder to get into my truck... and the chit my gf gives me about getting in. She loves the truck, but hates getting in it and i refuse to put steps on it because i dont like the way they look, plus i usually have to help the gf in the truck... fun to mess with her, especially when she wears a skirt
Save up and get a set of AMP steps. (or ask for a set for Christmas LOL) My 85 year old grandma gets into my truck without any help. Granted it is only a 6" lift... LOL They are worth every penny!
I don't know how you do it without steps though. Just for the day or two I had my stockers off I beat the hell out of my chins. I kept forgetting that the stupid things were not there anymore.. LOL
I thought about building some like the NFab steps... but still not sure...
