old school....I stopped a truck stop/moving van parked on the side of the road in Florida,...the moving van was permanent,...and had "CB specialist " spray [painted on the side.....he had a bunch of high dollar systems,...but he sold me this one (brand new in box) for $100
I have a Cobra 29 thats peaked and tuned with talkback. It has the Chrome "special edition" case and I have a chrome mic to go with it if anyone is interested. Pretty bad ass looking radio if you ask me.
Uniden 78 with a wilson mic and a wilson 200 antennt on the roof. Radio is peaked and tuned and gets out on average of about 6 or 7 miles. Works great.
I have been running a Radio Shack $49 special for the last 8 years and it has been a great CB. I was using a 4' roof antenna (magnet) that gave me the best results and then switched to a mirror mount on the passenger side. Still get good results out of it. Nothin fancy, but it picks up and puts out just fine.
I also have a Cobra 25 Classic that I run in my RV bus with a 4' antenna.
I was running a cobra 29 peeked and tuned and bigger final, old style Connex board driving the 3 pill box. I ran either a Wilson 1000 mag. mount or a Wilson 5000 roof mount. It's ALL in the antenna. Both are now just sitting on my radio table collecting dust since I got my am. liscense.
How about the 3 pill with he board? Should be pretty easy to hook that up to my uniden 78 I would think. Its pretty much the same as the 29. I have mine peaked and tuned and it will push about 6 or 7 out of it.
If someone wants what I have PM me and we'll talk price but I don't want to hijack this thread.
