A guy I work with has a duraturd dually and wants to put bigger tires on it without them rubbing on the rear axle. Anybody know what is the biggest size?

I can tell you that the offset on the Chevy wheels is less than the Ford wheels.
Ford duallies can fit 255s without rubbing together (unloaded), but the Chevys are limited to 235 (UNLOADED). If he's going to USE the truck, 225s are about as wide as he's going to want or BOOM!!! Rubbing on the rear axle? I don't understand that part of the question. There won't be any rubbing on the AXLE.....just have to watch out for "kissing" duals!
