Ain't seen a setup like that before, must be one of the older non wastegated ATS kits. Alot of the guys like the non wastegated ones because they don't take up as much room & you can still work on injectors & glow plugs without fighting it.
I think I will need that drivers side valve cover, ain't that the CCV tube running outta it? Unless I mod my current one.
Thought you all might like this info I found out from the IDI folks.....
There are 4 ATS models so far:
the 085 for 1985-1988 is none wastegated
the 088 for 1989-1993 is also none wastegated (more streamlined assembly)
the 093 is for 1993 and up
the aurora started in 2006 I think (don't quotes me on that)
The 085 and 088 both use garrett T04B turbochargers, with the 088 using a custom ATS turbine housing.
Wastegated are T3/T4 hybrids.
What you have there is an 088 system. I recognize the snail shape of the exhaust side of the turbo.

If the 088 system is more streamlined- I'd hate to have to pull the 085 system.
Well... We Almost got it off today. We got kicked out of the yard before we were finished. We got the air box, intake snail piece, crossover pipe, and downpipe. The uppipe makes a Y from the passenger side manifold to the crossover pipe and the turbo. The flange on the Y that goes to the manifold just barely didn't make it past the studs. The tranny dipstick tube was in the way. Tomorrow, I'm going there with a hacksaw and I'm leaving with a damn turbo.
Oh, and yes, I am going to send him the turbo... even though I voted no. I just wanted to tease him a little. ointlaugh:
Ha ha... I was kidding, Cat is one cool cat and of course he should get it... I can't just come right out and say that though... Gotta beat around the bush a little...
Oh- and the downpipe and uppipe are both really odd. They just slip into the exhaust housing. There is no flange or anything. That's also how the airbox attaches to the compressor inlet.
I don't think I'll fit in the crate  I don't think I trust UPS that much either. Just call me and let me hear it. Then take some pics and a video and post them.
He's just happy it comes with a mount kit, his leaf blower mount kit is now for sale.
