BEWARE! Az Diesel Emissions!!!
I went to go get my girl emissioned in arizona, i got a 2.0 out of 40.0 for max opacity. i still failed all because i dont have a cat! They are going by what the trucks came with factory. Now its going to be a pain in the ass to put a cat under there just so i can get a cleared so i can register it. Just wanted to let everyone know who is from arizona.....

find a gutted can and just stick it under there...cut the ends back far enough on the cat to weld on the larger pipe

While I understand your position, you have to accept the fact that they don't want to get in trouble either by the state. Just do what mandkole said and be done with it. It's not THEIR fault that the state test requires it to be there.

ya I have to have My cat in AZ and EGR in place for the visual my cat is not welded ,so no biggie and honestly the cat mod was a waste I should have not touched it
I can run a hot tune and still pass opacity ,, but the time will come that they will be plugging into the OBD on diesels like they do with gassers

ps it will state catcon on the valve cover so dbl chk because those guys don't really know what they are doing

I'm pretty sure your 02 had a cat from the factory. All 99+ diesel trucks did.

My previous Stroke didn't have a cat (01 F250) and as far as I know this one didn't either.
