Talking Floor shifter in a pick-up??

I do a lot of heavy pulling and I often do a lot of my own gear shifting eventhough I have an auto trans.( to take advantage of engine braking ect.) Well I've got my column shifter bout worn out. Was thinking bout installing a floor shifter such as a hurst or b&m, obviously I'd have to relocate the overdrive button but that should be no problem. Deose anyone out there have any experience or advice. Don't want my shifter to turn out to be ####ty.

Re: Floor shifter in a pick-up??

I have thought about doing this with my truck when I do the 6.7/4r100 swap.

if you were to put a console from like an explorer or expedition up on that section of the floor, and incorporate the shifter into there, with only the gates exposed, that would be pretty cool.

That is what I'm toying with.

As for shifter, look @ art-carr/winters sidewinder.

Re: Floor shifter in a pick-up??

Get yourself a PCS controller and you can set up a pretty easy push button shifter. You can make a 4R100 almost completely manual.

That's something I thought about also, but you need a cable shifting source don't you? Are you thinking electric motor or something?

No, you still use the factory selector, then the PCS controller takes over electrically
