Re: 96 7.3

Just thinking it would be a motor that doesn't need HGs and cheaper then paying a shop to do my work but my buddy told me the injection is slightly different than my current one so out of the concept

Re: 96 7.3

Just get you an E4OD to go with it and change the electronics to OBS. Really you'd be better off repairing your head gasket. You'd have just as much investment and you'll know what you have. You may inherit more problems with it than you currently have.

Why would he need the e4od and the obs wiring?

I wanna know why the OP thinks he blew his head gaskets.....

BTW an obs 7.3 psd motor is 95% the same as his early99 other than the electric fuel pump, electric vacuum pump, 120cc injectors and different turbo.

All he would need to do is swap over his injectors, the turbo, install a freeze plug where the obs mechanical fuel pump is, swap over the valve cover harness and a few other odds and ends.

Also, there are a few SDs on here and powerstrokearmy that have used an obs psd block and made 550hp+, sled pulls and passes at the drag strip.

Re: 96 7.3

Yeah jut the block. But I get what's diff and what he would need. Just saying I'd fix the motors hg's and stud it with new push rods and springs instead of swapping the whole motor and everything else.

I agree, but I'd like to know why he thinks he blew the headgaskets.
