Re: CP4 limits?

A CP4 pump in good condition is good for around 500hp with a stock turbo. It might support up to 550 or so with a little more turbo. From what I have seen, the factory low pressure pump holds plenty of pressure (40+ psi) even on trucks running 600+ hp.

Re: CP4 limits?

If it were my truck I'd do rods before I tried pushing it any harder than a tuner, intake and exhaust. The rods in these trucks are not good for more than 550 or so wrhp.

Re: CP4 limits?

Also, pretty sure there are no upgrades available for the HPFP yet.

I'd definitely do rods before pushing the truck harder, they seem to be the weak point as Eric said.

Re: CP4 limits?

im thinking just one big package of sticking wayy too much $$$ into it...
rods & studs for preventative measures (hopefully by the time i do it, they will be less than $3600 for a set of 8!)
then slap the fun parts on it!...
in the meanwhile ive been staring at stacking on a torq 2....
still some power per dollar efficiency, im hoping 30 more HP if i go that route.

i should probably sit tight & see if a hot / warhammer 350 type of tune becomes available for this like the 6.4's were blessed with...

Don't hold your breath on the bigger tune, that motor is tapped out on fuel and air with current tuning. Besides any more power than the current tunes can provide the rods can't take.

Trans so far has been great, no one has found the limit of it yet, it may even hold more than the stock 5R110's do ( around 600 in stock trim ) but we don't know yet.

If your looking for more power than what you can get with tuning though....... plan on rods, turbo's, injectors/nozzles and pump mods or dual pumps. 550 is about all those rods can take.
