2006 cummins/auto into a ford
I have a 2006 dodge 2500 and always wanted to put a cummins td into a '99 to 2003 f250 or 350. I just got a stage 2 48re trans build from Garmon Performance Diesel in Georgia and have a Garrett ball bearing turbo (GT3782R) on its way from Turbo Resource in Arizona. So what would it take money-wise to get that drivetrain into a ford? The cummins is a 24v common rail and not sure how the computer would tie into a swap like that. Are the axles and diffs on a ford better than the American Axle units on the dodge? Trying to get a realistic idea what I am looking at to do a swap. I may have a 2000 model F350 located without an engine but haven't talked to owner to see what it would take to buy from him. Any input on this welcome...

Re: 2006 cummins/auto into a ford
depends how much of the work you can do yourself and what pieces you have with the engine. I would suggest looking for a 05+ so you get the coil front end.
The wiring isn't that big of a deal. |
