lost communication with the tcm

I was cruising down the road at 65 when the tranny started acting all goofy so I pulled over to shut the truck off and restart it. The lights and everything came on but wouldn't crank. I noctice the gear idicator light wasn't on and the dashdaq wasn't reading tranny temp so I looked at codes and there was a code that said no communication with the tcm. Looked over all conection and made sure no hardness were rubed thru checked all fuses. Any other sugrressions. Has anyone run into this before

Sounds like the tcm may be fried. I believe when the indicator lights are out thats not a good thing. Double check all your connectors just to make sure nothing came loose.

Re: lost communication with the tcm

Spartan TCMs were for job 1 trucks. Go to Ford and get a job 3 TCM and have it reflashed to work on your truck and then retune it with your choice of tuner.

Re: lost communication with the tcm

You will have to put your truck back to stock to have Ford install a new job 3 TCM and then they flash it to work with your truck. When Ford is done with it you retune it. I dont think they make job 1 TCMs any more but make sure before they do it.
