2000 F250 PSD smokes black after heavy throttle
Hey guys im new on the site, and new to 7.3's ! I have an issue, i just picked up an 00 F250 7.3 4x4 crew with 165K for real cheap. No MODS. When truck is warm and driving, if i get hard on the throttle i get little smoke, as soon as i let off i get a cloud of black smoke. Again this is a stock truck. As of right now i have no gauges either. The trucks previous owner never heavy hauled!

Welcome to owning a diesel. They have a tendency to puke a little black smoke..... even stock. Hahaha.

yeah i've noticed, but it just seems a little different then others ive seen. It gives off some smoke during hard throttle, but when i let off it pukes smoke. Thanks for the welcome. Other then this little issue, I love the truck.

Mine doesn't do that tuned or stock.

Mine didn't smoke one bit when it was just straight piped, and since yours is only really when letting out of it, id say you have a problem

My late 99 with 100k miles blew some black smoke when I floored it.
My 2000 with 300k miles doesn't blow a bit of black smoke, go figure? I can see that the previous owner of the 2000 had a 5th wheel hitch removed too. Maybe he did some engine work along the way, not sure?
