no start please help

94.5 powerstroke, just had my fuel bowl and hpop off to reseal everything on the hpop cause it was leaking oil bad, got it all back together and now it won't start, noticed that the hpop resivoir is still completely full after crankin on it for a long time, is it possible to put the gear on the pump wrong or is everything just air locked, any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Crack one of the oil plugs on the head, pull fuse 22 in the underwood box and have someone crank and see if you have oil in both heads.

Re: no start please help

ok i'll try that...is it possible to put the gear back on the pump wrong, there was no key-way or anything and the teeth slid together and seemed to tighten up fine with the bolt..i'm not understanding why the hpop resivoir is still full of oil after me cranking on it cause i know when it doesn't start in the winter that resivoir gets drained completely dry and then i have to fill it up with oil to get it to start.

Re: no start please help

well i pulled an oil line and its not pumping any oil out, so i took the resivoir back off and turned the motor over, the gear and bolt are both turning fine so the pump has to be turning but no oil, only other thing i can think of is the ipr got messed up and isn't letting any oil pass through? am i right in thinking that?

Does the oil pressure gauge on the dash ever come. Up during cranking? Possible could be an ipr issue, make sure the tin nut is tight on the back

Re: no start please help

Yea I'm thinking it's an ipr problem cause the pump isn't putting out any oil at all and the kit I got didn't have the little o ring and the split back up washer at the end of the ipr and I didn't realize it was suppose to be split so I threw on 2 o rings that I had Layin around and I think there not allowing the ipr to open at all so I ordered the right o rings and washer and see what happens

Re: no start please help

my 97 wouldn't start and i tryed evrything and finally i got it, it was the idm(injector drive module) it is on the inside of the left fender, take that off and shake it and if there is water in it its junk. give that a shot and see what happens. i took the one that was fill with water ad took it apart and i am drying it now to see if i put it i it will work but in the mean time i just got one from the junk yard

Re: no start please help

I would say if you rebuilt the hpop then your problem is likely in there, something maybe got over looked and left out? It takes a pretty small leak to bypass enough hpo to not start. A torn o-ring will do it. Maybe something got fubared during install?
