Re: 7.3 oil cooler

You must be talking about the tranny cooler for $300 and not engine oil cooler?????

Anyway, keep an eye on the classifieds but if you buy a used one and it is not totally clean, you will be paying much more than $300 for a tranny rebuild so I would just fork out the $300 and get a new, clean one.

Rebuild it your self. Its not a hard job to take on all you need is access to a parts washer. And the oring kit for the oil cooler.

$300 for a cooler? Is your defective? If not, like Moto says, rebuild it yourself. You can get the kit from dieselorings website for $70.

Re: 7.3 oil cooler

If it doesn't work out, pm me, I have a couple. Holy crap, I just looked at the thread. I could retire on some of the prices these days. I will take a picture of one of mine and post it here tomorrow. $100 shipped to your door. Not sure if it needs rebuilt, its on a 2000 motor I have. Probably would be a good idea and you would have a rebuilt cooler for $170.
