Re: Dead 7.3

Does the WTS light come on?
Does the tach move when you crank it?
Any white smoke as you crank it?
Do the SHIFT and PERIOD (and question mark) keys on your keyboard work?

Re: Dead 7.3

It ran for a few months after the swap. All the lights on the dash work and same with the tach and oil pressure. I have changed all the upper motor wiring, idm, ECM, all sensors and new electric fuel pump. It's got plenty of oil pressure and is opening the injectors, I know that because I can here them. No check engine light comes on. It will run all day long with a can of ether in it so must be fuel right? It's getting fuel to the heads and the injectors click like they are opening so why won't it fire up?

Re: Dead 7.3

No smoke while it's cranking unless you are using ether

Re: Dead 7.3

You need to scan it with a decent scanner that can read icp and such.

Other than that I'd recomend finding a nice stainless dual well sink and throwing that at it as well.

Re: Dead 7.3

Yea no kidding. I have read the icp with a scanner and it's at 3000 psi. Well at least that's what ford said when they read it.

Re: Dead 7.3

Fuel heater/ECU fuse blown maybe? Sometimes you can get an airlock in the fuel bowl after its been drained.

Just throwing out some stuff I can think of that would still be left. RPM signal is good?

Re: Dead 7.3

A couple months ago I worked on a SD that wouldn't read RPM. Tried CKP, checked crank endplay, traced wires, no dice.

Swapped in a known good PCM and she fired right up. All the PID's read good oil wise and it had planty of fuel just like yours.

Another thought.
