What turbo should be on my 1994 IDI factory turbo truck. It is a centurian, but I dont know if that makes a difference. It has a garrett with a .70 A/R and that seems high from the factory. I am just curious so make sure I have enough fuel.
Yeah, thats the factory turbo. The A/R is just the relationship of the of the Outlet (compressor side) Area of the housing, over the radius of the scroll at the center of the outlet. So just because the number is high doesnt mean a whole lot, a way bigger housing could still have a .70 A/R... Here is a good link that describes what im talking about.
The ATS turbo is actually pretty small in comparison to a lot of diesel turbos, its about right on par with what a lot of the Ford 2.3 Turbo 4 bangers upgrade to.
Thanks....I didnt realize they came factory with garrett turbos....I had them on my shelby cars back in the days.....those flew....for 135CI 4 bangers.
Yup, not far from the same design either.. Center section is the same, just a bigger hot and cold side...
