hello, just curious to what a normal boost psi should be on an intercooled obs. mods in sig.... well finallly finished my intercooler install today.7.3 alluminum cooler. had 40 psi boost with out cooler.now iam only hitting 25-28psi and dropped 200 degrees @ wot.. from 1400 to 1200 degrees which seems great, but the boosts 12 psi lost seems huge... never mine the turbo lag.. thanks jonathan

Re: intercooler-vs-non intercooled boosts?
I lost quite a bit of boost on my truck also. I never could find any leaks either.

Re: intercooler-vs-non intercooled boosts?
yeah i checked for leaks & all seems tight too. thinking about disconnecting it but leaving cooler in for when i go to hybrids+turbo. At least the install is done and ready. might i say install came out very nice, but very tight with my minute mount push plates.... any input / advise would be helpful. thanks again.

Re: intercooler-vs-non intercooled boosts?
Boost pressure is not the issue really it's cooler air charge and lower egts. You (iirc) drop a couple pounds across the IC. Lower boost is compensated via cooler charge so at the end of the day generally I think it's a wash. Benefit is cooler egts which means you can put more fuel to it.... :)

Re: intercooler-vs-non intercooled boosts?
Less boost - lower egts - more power - more air..... Are you complaining?

Re: intercooler-vs-non intercooled boosts?
well i guess im used to having 40psi boost right there all the time w/no lag.i understand with what you guys are saying. i will do some testing @ the track in a couple of weeks/dyno. as for now disconnected it,150 degrees doesnt seem like enough to sacrifice 15lbs of boost....@ this stage of my build with stg 1 injectors. thanks

Re: intercooler-vs-non intercooled boosts?
Mine went from 35psi to 25psi per the gauge. I was referencing boost directly off the factory Y pipe, now im going off the map sensor line. i just figured it was a bad reference, because the truck wasnt any slower after the IC.

Re: intercooler-vs-non intercooled boosts?
Are you going to do a couple pulls without IC, then with? Im curious to see the difference.
