Its all about how you prioritize your spending....people with big homes, families, children etc, typically will have a much harder time affording a brand new 50k+ truck. Single guys like myself dont mind spending a bigger chuck of pay on a truck payment.

This week, NBC News reported on a survey that concluded that.. get this... 50% of American families could not come up with $2,000 when given up to 30 days to try.
Pretty sad.
Usually circumstances like this is an accumulation of years of bad decisions.
If you talk to people, it can boggle your mind to try to make sense out of some of the financial decisions they make. Loan after loan, credit cards galore along with a "mexican hat dance" of shuffling money to make basic payments, and always another vehicle they can't afford unless it is a lease.

I don't know about you guys, but I was brought up without a lot of money, and had to scratch and claw to live while starting and growing my business.
It was tough, but also the best lesson in building a solid foundation that anyone could have had.

No I can not afford a new 65K truck. I like to pay cash for my junk. But I can also say as a small business owner I also can not justify a 65K truck.

I cant afford that right now because Ive bought two cars in the last two years. Aaaaand I believe mama is gonna want an upgrade in the fall.

If I were going to buy a truck. It'd have to be cash. Aaaand it looks like Id be getting a used one for the prices Im seeing.

Single....would be a piece of cake! But I still wouldnt part with that much for a truck. Would wait a year and save 15k on one with low miles.
