Re: 30 degrees...no start!
I've been having the same issues as the OP, 40* started fine, 30* the last two mornings, wait for WTS light to go off, crank, it "sneezes" like it's gonna start, then stops, keeps cranking normal speed, not slow cranking or anything. Going to check the relay tonight, and clean/check connections/terminals.

All vehicles had good charging systems, about 14.5v except the 3rd was right at 15v, still within spec. Oddly enough, when I replaced the batteries in my 2003 Duramax, they were the original batteries, with 2002 date code, one tested bad, the other good, so I kept the good one around, put the Everstart Maxx's in that one and my 01 2500HD, when I had all the issues with the Everstarts I put the Super Starts in the 03 Dmax, and was short on cash, so put the one good old GM 2002 battery into the 01 truck, that battery was still going strong in 2011 (9 years old) when I finally replaced it with a Super Start AGM, just because I didn't want to risk it any longer. That GM battery is still in my shop, as a just in case battery. I put the trickle charger on it once every couple months, it still holds it's charge.

Re: 30 degrees...no start!
iirc the glow plug system will not work below a certain voltage.. if you plan on redoing the glow plug system Big Stroker from CP can hook you up with the whole system for a around a 100 bucks.. includes 8 ford glow plugs and a heavy duty relay

Re: 30 degrees...no start!
I also run the walmart maxx batteries for the same reason. No matter where you are or what time it is there is always a walmart open somewhere.
