97 F350 rear axle help

long time reader - first time poster

I have a 97 F350 RCLB and have a little bit of an issue with the rear axle...evidently the rear looks like its about to fall off the truck. I don't have any pics yet so i'll do my best to explain so please bear with me.

The entire rear has rotated down so that the angle it comes out to meet the rear drive shaft is pretty much straight instead of being angled up. The truck has a pretty large lift (as it is running 39.5 swampers) and has a ~5-6 inch rear block and evidently a shackle flip kit. Since this needs correcting I am going to change it over to springs but without digressing the plate on top of the springs looks to have been cut and a pretty shotty job of install by previous owners.

What would need to be done and how extensive is it to correct this issue? I am mechanically inclined but this is the first time undertaking such a task. Any input/opinions etc would be of great help and appreciated. Thanks

Tom

Yep without pics it will be very difficult to help. I would caution against driving it like that in the mean time.
