Re: tuner = bad injectors?

Yeah I heard around there is when they go bad. Would the fuel pressure mess up the spool valves have not found this out yet.

Lack of fuel pressure will destroy injectors in short order.. Do you have the updated fuel pressure regulator kit in your truck? If not, it's well worth the $72.00 they get for it.

Re: tuner = bad injectors?

I don't feel the lack of pressure could do any damage to the spool valves. Internal damage yes.

Re: tuner = bad injectors?

I had a similar issue happen. Truck was running fine (208000 miles BTW). Installed Vivians Looney Wild, and the truck started missing real bad. 1 new injector fixed it right up. Still on 7 factory injectors. Replacing all with Warren 190's within the next couple weeks. I think my issue is more along the line of the tune put alot of stress (i always have my foot to the floor) on the spool valves or something which caused the injector to show its signs more of wear.

Re: tuner = bad injectors?

the spool valve is on the oil side so low fuel psi wont damage it but the fuel side counts on the fuel to cushion the injection cycle.

read pdf to see about stiction and spool valve issues http://alliantpower.com/sites/allian...01-09r1_en.pdf

there isn't an expected life cycle of a6.0 injector that I have ever read about .

the better you take care of the oil and fuel requirements the longer they seem to last for folks.

Read pdf to see why fuel issues can waste an injector http://alliantpower.com/sites/allian...b_06-08_en.pdf

The three 6.0's I own haven't been able to go by the 160K mark without new injectors.

Re: tuner = bad injectors?

I ran A diablo Predator Sport on my last 02' 7.3 and it was awesome for a shelf tuner. In fact Bill at Power Hungry Performance even told me that it was a decent piece for what it is. But a 6.0 with a EGR delete, exhaust, and SCT is a beast!!!

And FYI alot of guys replace injectors when all it really was were the r-rings. hook compressed air up to the oil system and look/listen for air leaking. And before you ask the same dumb question that I did, the compressed air at 90-175 psi is nothing when the HPOP operates at a minimum or 475 psi to run the truck. ToolManGary schools me everytime I take my truck to him.
