No Oil Pressure to 6.0
About 3,000 miles ago I had the typical EGR Valve/Cooler problem. I blew a head gasket and also replaced the EGR valve, EGR Cooler, Oil Cooler, replaced leaking turbo, alternator cables, both batteries, and ALL fuel injectors.....just under $10,000 in repairs...
About a month ago (truck has been broken down for a month) my screen flashed "Low Oil Pressure" and shut off. I towed it back home and replaced the high pressure oil pump...nothing. I brought it to a shop and the mechanic (recommended to me by a few friends) said that the engine was "shot" and needs a replacement. He said that all of the work that I had done recently was not related to what is going on now (Ford did the first set of repairs). He told me that the labor would be $1800 for the engine swap and the cheapest engine I've found is about $5000. I am thinking about just selling the truck for parts and getting a different vehicle but I HATE to do that. The body is dinged up and the engine is "out"......or is it? I just told someone yesterday about it who was selling their 6.0 engine and he told me that the engine can be repaired and I shouldn't even buy HIS engine. Now I am really confused. If anyone has advice for me I'd love to hear it. Pre-warning: I know just enough about auto-motives to repeat what I have heard from other people, I am by no means a mechanic...I just know that I paid $10,000 to "fix" my truck a few months ago and now am looking at another $7,000+ and I can't afford to do it. Re: No Oil Pressure to 6.0
make sure you have the correct oil filter. skinny top. also check the oil filter tube, there should be a top valve on the tower with a spring, make sure its not broken. remove the oil psi regulator, its a 12 mm allan bit thats located under the harmonic balancer. check for debris or if its stuck in the cover

Re: No Oil Pressure to 6.0
low pressure oil pump...seen it atleast 10 times. to make certain pull the oil filter out and have someone crank the truck over while you look down inside where the oil sits. most likely the canister will not fill because the low pressure oil pump is not supplying oil to it...
