did i do okay buying my firstpowerstroke?

hey guys i bought a 1996 f-250 extended cab short bed 4x4 powerstroke 5 speed. for 3k I live in pennsylvania so it does have a little rust here and there but compared to most up this way its pretty solid. (just needs fenders in front and wheel wells in the bed) but here is list of some of the upgrades the truck has.

-Dana 60 front
-aftermarket air intake with open element
-bully dog propane injection
-50hp chip
-reprogrammed idm (i think he said it was but don't hold me to it something he reprogrammed to get more power)
- took auto out and installed zf 5 speed
-luk single mass flywheel
-one ton lief springs whole way around
-3 inch downpipe into 3.5 strait pipe
-ford lightning speedometer that goes up to 120mph

the interior looks like new still and truck looks like it was well taken care of the truck has 150k miles on it but supposed to have less then 100k miles on motor and trans. One thing i noticed is after the wait to start light goes out and i go to crank it over it takes about 6sec of cranking and give it a little fuel and then it will fire up in (50 degree weather)

please let me know what you guys input is.

Re: did i do okay buying my firstpowerstroke?

Sounds like you got a great deal! The starting issue could be the glow plugs, I would try jumping the glow plug relay (just a regular solenoid) before you go to start it jump the glow plug relay for about 10 seconds and see if that helps it start. If it does replace the relay, if not I would look into it a little further. That relay seems to be a common problem, but diagnosing a hard starting issue is a little more work due to the injectors being fired off of high pressure oil.

If you are looking for more power I would look into a TS 6 position chip tuned by one of the vendors here, a few good ones are Tony Wildman, Matt @ Gearhead automotive, swamps, beans, etc. Ditch the propane injection, if set up incorrectly it can cause major problems. Depending on your financial situation I would look at getting your injectors built, Jim @ Rosewood is awesome and his prices are very fair! 160cc is a very good injector for a relatively stock truck.

You did fine. But If I remember Correctly, the supercab short beds only came with 5 speeds. I had a hard time finding one, so I opted for my crew cab

You remember correctly. I couldn't even order one with an auto when I bought mine in 97. Some BS story about the wheelbase being too short, even though it was longer than the regular cab longbed, which you could get an auto in.

Yes, they only came with a 5 speed in a short box super cab if it was 4x4.
You could get an auto with a two wheel drive short box super cab.

I am sure that is just the original cluster with the PDNR21 put in from the lightning cluster
