Re: 6.0 Puller build

Hmm.. I know of a dmax making 13xx.......... Must be a cummins... If you can make 900hp and put it to the ground you'll have fun.

2.6 and 3.0 are the size of the turbo your allowed to have.

Re: 6.0 Puller build

The only ford I can think of in the 2.6 class that's close to 1200hp is the fearless ford which I heard puts down 1100hp.

Re: 6.0 Puller build

Fantasy truck pullers is a pulling club in SW WI and NE IA. And Im sure everyone knows of trucks that make "1300hp". But then the guys who only make 750hp pull right with them, seems strange.

The only problem with his truck is he can't get anything to the ground. J warren usually runs better than Eric.

Re: 6.0 Puller build

Eric George has one hell of a stout motor, but I will agree with you on that. I've watched some of his first pulling videos and he had terrible trouble with wheel hop and traction problems.

Re: 6.0 Puller build

There is alot more to truck pulling then to just build big power. There is alot of setup that goes along with it and also truck placement/sled spotting. I currently pull a 1969 f250 in the gas "street mod" class at local fairs. The truck probably has about 600 dollars in it but only cuz it has a barrowed 428 motor from a friend. The motor is stock except for a holley carb. and a set of cheap headers. the motor was rated at 340 hp in 1968 as it came out of a mercury 4 door car. I usually pull around the 260 to 270 ft mark on a 300 foot track. and this year came in a couple seconds mostly top 10 to top 5. But its mostly all in my set up and total lack of worry about breaking something. I have alot of set up ideas if you would like to hear them.

(atleast around here) Anyone who doesnt is stretching the truth on power and not winning. If you want to compete with the 6.0 get a good custom built turbo clipped down to a 2.6 and run some 350cc hybrids with dual pumps. That will get you up in the 800-900 range and you will be competing very well, especially if your pulling classes are anything like ours. Otherwise you could run a mechanical 13mm pump and just hope and pray you can build a motor to handle it. Expect to spend 4-5k on the turbo itself, and 3500-5k on the injectors and pump set up. Unless you go mechaincal, then expect to dump another 8-9k on pump, lines and injectors and front cover. I know a guy who has one he might consider selling all of it.
He has a mechanical setup for a 6.0? I have only seen em for the 7.3. Heard about people trying to make one but haven't heard or seen one working yet.

Yeah I'm running 225's now with a s366/74 non vgt along with a built trans on my current setup. The biggest problem I have is the bouncing like a bucking bronco down the track. That's one of the reasons I am building a ec lb this time to help with that.
