Re: stage 2s and towing with D66

Keep the stage 1's..which are 160 cc not whatever the other guy said...stage 2's won't go up hills any faster with a D66..swap in a modded H2e and you could drop the temps a little but really for towing heavy stage 1's is all thats needed.

Re: stage 2s and towing with D66

Not trying to nit pick here. So what you mean is there will be no advantage of having the 2s Instead of the 1s? While towing anyways. I wasn't sure if I would spool better/faster and keep temps down or if it would make temps worse. I figured while they were out now would be the time. And is there any reason I should do Springs and pushrods while I'm in there? And if so, other than wear, what would be reasons/benefits. Thanks again for suggestions

Re: stage 2s and towing with D66

Like OBSWIZ stated......KEEP the stage I's.....you cannot cool any more than what you have already when towing.... you can read my sig, and I can't cool what I have, on a hot day the water temp just keeps going up....next for me is a Ron Davis Race Products radiator out of Glendale Arizona.....I have plenty of power, as I can gain speed on the Grapevine, or the Siskyou's (both 10-13 miles of 6-7 % grade) with 20,000 combined weight, so the amount of power I have is not a problem.

Cooling is, on a hot day, above 75 degrees.....spend your money on stuff to make it last, not more power......

Re: stage 2s and towing with D66

Ok. I'm definitely keeping the stage 1s. Thanks for your advise. I just needed the push in the right direction. But, how do you have a 4" dp?

Are you running a sd d66 turbo or just the obs with a 3" outlet?

Re: stage 2s and towing with D66

I bought the D-66 before I did the 4 in DP, so everything is OBS...used the flange off the old dp, ( about an inch of it anyhow), and went to 4in right there....I also have a BD Vacuum Brake installed, so there's no going another way...... would cost too much to change now.

if I had known then what I know now, I would have done a 38r, the bigger plenums, and a full SD steup, with the bellowed up-pipes.
