Yeah, that's pretty much why I posted this!
I took the parts I needed from this junk one and figured I would get some pics before I tossed it in the trash. I even got one good LH pivot shield from it. I need to try to make these out of metal. At least I can use this one for a pattern. I didn't have much to work with before. Here's the new one next to what I had: |

I think I can make a hammerform out of oak and I'll try some .060 aluminum I already have and see how it works out. The aluminum should hold up better than the plastic I would think. I can see on the backside of this one where it has the white lines showing already where it's been strained. Might not be long before it cracks too.
If I do it, I'll post up some pics. 'Cause if there ain't no pics, it didn't happen! |
