You can get a new TCM from Ford and install it yourself but they need to reflash your truck to work with the new TCM.

So if o get the new one and install it myself I still can't drive it there I would still need to pull it there for them to rflash it?

No indicator on the dash is definately a fried TCM, or a connection issue to the TCM. Been there twice. To double check, you can turn the key to the ON position, there is a wire with a connector next to the pass battery. Disconnect it and touch the contact to the battery...it should start. If it does, its the TCM.

I do know the TCM from Ford come pre flashed. Like Gman said...you may need a flash from Ford.

Ford said the tcms have been updated seven times since mine was made so do i buy a new one from them for over 700 so I know I got the latest and greatest or do I take my chances with a used one

Id get the spartan tcm if you are running the dashdaq with spartan tunes.
