Turbo lag

So when I stomp the gas pedal to the floor it takes a good couple of seconds before the turbo kicks in. Not sure if this is normal but is there anything I can do to improve the response time? I've darn near got hit pulling out onto the road waiting for that thing to kick in. I should add that I'm running a custom mild street tune (105 hp over stock) with an SCT programmer. Thanks for any suggestions.

Re: Turbo lag

Stock turbo I'm guessing? Mine also lags, but thats just the nature of the beast. I know some aftermarket turbos are designed to spool quicker then stock.

Re: Turbo lag

PHP FICM tuning is a good start.

Re: Turbo lag

Yeah, I had a feeling it was normal with stock turbo and I'd have to buy something aftermarket to help it, but I thought I'd ask in case mine acted out of the norm. Thanks guys.
