Stage 1 camshaft
I'm new to this site and pretty new to 6.0s..I have a 06 f350 that had only 92000 and had a bad lifter which washed the camshaft.. The truck is in the shop right now cause I decided to put the sct tuner, exhaust,,intake and head studs on while down..(already has Egt delete).. Since the camshaft is no good would i really gain big torque gains by using stage 1 camshaft .. It's the same price as oem maybe little cheaper...? And would the camshaft effect motor in da long run.. I want this to be last time I have to go in the motor while it's apart causing I'm going broke...lmao

Re: Stage 1 camshaft
Whose Stage 1 cam shaft??
I know most upgraded cams require a core. Nevertheless though, since you already have it down, I would give it a whirl. I have heard from people that they didnt do anything but I have heard from others that they like em so take it FWIW. I would also upgrade your pushrods to 7/16in ones since you are in there. Are you doing new lifters too?? I would recommend it. I would also use a high quality synthetic oil once everything gets broken in. JMOs here. Hope it helps.

Re: Stage 1 camshaft
look at colt cams. and if you do the cam you need to do the lifters as well, being that your right there

Re: Stage 1 camshaft
IIRC the RCD cam is the cam made by Colt.

Re: Stage 1 camshaft
depends is the 6.0 a roller lifter? If so all you do is the cam.

Re: Stage 1 camshaft
Thanks guys for all the input..I went with the stage one camshaft from rivercitydiesel... Did all new new lifters..my mechanic said he that it he think it would not increase performance that much but would increase my air flow.. I guess we will see within the next couple of days.. I'll post some videos after..if I would have did some more research I probably would have went with colt... But I think I moved a little to fast

Re: Stage 1 camshaft
The stock 6.0 is a hydraulic lifter motor. I know you can get solid roller lifters through Elite Diesel though.
