A piller. You have to take your eyes off the road very little to see them. Anywhere else and you are not watching the road

I have had them on the dash, on the pillar, and above the rear view mirror.... My favorite in looks from the outside is above the mirror, because unless you know what it is it doesnt look like gauges.

But on usefulness, the Pillar is the best for visibly of the road. Other than the blind spot it does make that I dont have now!
