help

So I need to know how to tell if my turbo needs cleaned or replaced. Is there a way to visually to tell if a cleaning will help or if it is just shot? It was whistling real bad and now I got no boost above 30mph.

Re: help

Nothing visual....I can almost garauntee u it's one of ur up pipes coming from ur manifolds to ur turbo. The flex pipes break and cause ur turbo to whistle like crazy and loss of boost. Almost every time customers come in with same problem it's that

Re: help

Thanks I will tear into it when I get home. Have you done alot of them? Is the crack or broken part pretty obvious. If I dont have to replace the turbo that would be good. I appreciate the help.

Re: help

Ive done quite a few...if u don't have a replaced passenger side that comes with most egr delete kits then u might as do both sides while ur in there.....couple hours first time around....remove coolant bottle....remove ficm......remove chage pipe to turbo......remove clamps on both sides of turbo..... remove turbo ........remove both fender wells to make ur life easier and unbolt the the up pipes from the manifolds and they're out. For both I believe their $300 ish from the dealer with hardware....make sure u get gasket for passenger side where the up pipes meet
