To Delete or Not To Delete

I know this topic has came up before, but I wanted to get some more opinions on it. I have a 2011 F250 FX4 with 10k on the ticker. Mods- H&S Mini Maxx, S&B cold air, Banks DPF back exhaust, and a Firestone Ride Rite air bag kit. I am currently getting an average of 17.5mpg on the Hot setting. Mileage goes up around 18.7-19, then "cleaning exhaust filter" pops up on the screen and the mileage goes to sh__! So I was thinking of doing a full EGR and DPF delete. What are you guys opinions on this? Also I want to add that I mostly use the truck for pulling either my race truck or our 36' 5th wheel trailer. Thanks for your comments and opinions in advance!

A few turbo problems on the 6.7s for the guys with a heavy foot with tuning and deletes, but I have also heard of a few who have had theirs deleted for over 100k miles and not a single problem

Re: To Delete or Not To Delete

That's what I like to hear! I just want the fuel mileage to be more consistent and better(of course). I am very happy with the power that I have now, just get frustrated with the mileage.

KEM green tunes will get you the mileage. I am very impressed with performance and MPG. I picked up 3 mpg over H&S hot on Map 4 and I have seen less regens.

Re: To Delete or Not To Delete

Screw EGRs and DPFs lol they arent meant to be on a diesel anyway... my 6.4 is problem free 65k miles and easily gets 20-22 mpg

Re: To Delete or Not To Delete

I have the KEM Green card. The mileage was not that much better, if any. The computer showed 21-22mpg, but when I hand calculated, I was only getting between 17-18mpg. The power is better than the H&S, but the shifting is horrible! Especially pulling our camper in tow/haul mode. So I went back to the H&S tunes.

That's really debatable, to be honest. The number of people with turbo problems has been few and far between. However, almost every blown turbo recorded or spoken about on here has been with someone running H&S Hot tunes and a delete.

My truck is currently deleted but it's only 1-2psi over stock boost levels not like many of the other tunes which are far more aggressive when it comes to boost levels.

IDP makes excellent power with their on road tunes and the Torq2.1 railbox. Give Eric a call and he'll get you squared away!
