cruse control issue

hello all. I'm new here to pen but i have used it to do a few things to my truck. i just got my 2003 power stroke with a zf-6 speed in november of 2011. it now has 300k on every thing. i bought it from my work it was a used as a daily driver for a higher up in the company. any who i was driving a month ago to work, and thought to my self I'm going to put cruse control on and save some fuel.

long story short it stopped working. sense i have had it from november it has worked and then it wouldn't for a day or two then would work( i was told it has done this the 3 years that the company has had the truck), now its not working at all.

tried self testing by holding the cruse off button and all that jazz but no light in the instrument panel at all.

checked resistance in the clock spring and switches seems fine.

checked all the fuses that correspond with the cc fine.

recall was done on it and checked both the 2 external fuses and the internal on its all good there.

changed the abs sensor that was on the rear axle( it was broke in half when i got there.)

checked resistance and voltage in both the break position switch and pressure switch all good there too.

checked all the break lights and replace upper cab light still nothing.

did find broken springs in the cpp so going to replace that tomorrow. but i feel like thats not my issue at all.

i was driving yesterday and i decided to see if the cruse would work well my horn sounded when i pushed the on button. it seams like there is a short in the wires sense the horn and the on button are in the same circuit.

so at this point i think its ether the clock spring or the switches are dead many i got a bad reading when i tested them, but both a lot of $$$$$$$. any thoughts or suggestions i would love to have.

thanks biscuits112
