Question 97 fuel lid problem

help! factory lid on my 7.3 amost twisted off (plastic & o.e) now I replaced the filter seal and it leaks. Is there a update or replacement for this

is the gasket square cut, or is it beveled? if its beveled it goes flat against the cap, bevel down at the bowl, or they leak. and yes, when they are upside down, you can twist the cap past the stopping point and cap will jump the threads and leak, i have done this once.

If you need a new lid you can get it form here http://catalog.powerstrokeshop.com/p...&subcat2=86786 or I believe that NAPA also carrier aftermarket lids for the housing.

Flat side on bowl with bevel facing up towards cap.
Lube with fuel.

Check Deiselsite. They have the baldwin with the built in cap. I have been happy for 50k miles (4 filters so far).
