We are getting the tranny rebuilt in my brothers truck and of course going to upgrade the converter. Right now im def leaning towards the Precision Industries converter since thats what BTS uses and i know he has one of the baddest trannies on the market! The guy that is rebuilding the tranny said to go with BD for the tc but i havent heard much on them. i know about that company and have heard good things just havent heard much on powerstroke guys running there tc. so question is which one is better or is there someone else i should look into

suncoast or Precision. Spec-rite has a nice one to i hear and so does RCD. There were selling both the suncoast and PI ones, but not sure if they are now selling their own or what. Maybe PM Jared and see if you're interested.

i had the precision in my 6.0 and have one in my 6.4. never had a problem and the warrenty is pretty awesome. PI def gets my vote.

I wouldn't use anything without a billet cover the stock stamped cover doesn't do well with higher Hp and torque the studs will try to bend over distorting cover causing lockip clutch failure .we use buckeye precision of Ohio great people and very reliable converter hope this helps

i havent had a problem with the stock converter and they seem to hold up great i was just thinkin if we are going to rebuild this tranny then why not put an upgraded converter in at the same time

I definately agree to upgrade while its out just letting u know what can happen that is one of the reasons why they went to a 8 stud on 6.4s and went from 4 to 6 when they came out with the 7.3 turbo...cover distortion with a billet cover u wont have to worry about it

i wouldnt. we ended up getting a fully built tranny from warren diesel with the PI converter and its proven its self over and over. Heard of way to many ATS failures to want to go with them
