I dont see a thread or sticky on this anywhere. Does anyone have a write up on it?

Not that I know of... I'd imagine the hardest parts would be exhaust separation and TC bolts? Just properly marking and detaching the electrical goodies and plumbing. And having a cherry picker that can lift 1000lbs safely and high enough.

Send me the truck and you wont have to worry about it.... You can keep the tranny just need the other parts.

Remove batteries.
Remove turbo, intercooler pipeing
Unplug main engine wiring harness, When I do it I take the harness completely off the the engine.
Remove the power that feeds the glow plug relay and bring that out with the engine.
Remove cooling fan and shroud.
Drain coolant and remove radiator.
Remove intercooler.
Remove ground wires for starter and one on back of engine by down pipe
remove upper radiator bracket.
Unbolt AC compressor and lay off to the side, do not disconnect hoses
I take off the accessory brackets, the one with the power steering i just lay off to the side.
Remove starter
Remove torque converter shield then torque converter bolts
Remove bell housing bolts
Remove engine mount bolts
Start lifting engine, with jack placed under transmission.

I don't think I missed anything but feel free to add something if it is not there.

What do you do? Normally I don't take the bumper off... just so happens, I was taking mine off anyway.

But steve, you now have a 2 person job... the hood! LOL

Seriously, either way works. Depends on what you have...

Garrett. I just found the source of all your problems. You were running a 7.3 trans cooler :poke:

PS, please tell me you don't take those 4 bolts, or 3 bolts depending on what part you're talking about, out of the motor mount to pull the motor. Did you just throw those motor mounts back in there for the picture or so you wouldn't loose them lol?
